Has the Oklahoma Atheist Been Saved?

it looks like Rebecca Vitsmun has found salvation.

Not from the Lord, mind you, but from other atheists and friends of atheists.

This is supposed to be a “news” outlet?

Would somebody please just kill CNN? Did Pat Robertson buy the network?

It’s a play on the Christian concept of being “saved,” and is an example of atheists helping someone, so no I don’t think crazy old Pat is involved.

I’m a little uncomfortable with money being raised for one person because she happened to mention she’s an atheist, when so many in the area are in need, but am glad people are helping her, and hope that it leads to more Humanist charity work.

My issue is with Blitzer badgering the woman to “thank God” in the first video, then the CNN web site running this “Saved” piece. When did CNN become the Christian News Network?

I’d read the article, but hadn’t watched the video until you mentioned it in your post. You’re right, this is very 700 Club. “You’re blessed…Brian, your husband is blessed…” Wolf seems to think that a god saved these people.

The God-fearing folk can pray to the Lord for help and see what that gets them.

It’s been a couple of years since I first heard the damn Dominists say that secular people who give to charity are supporting the antichrist without knowing it and part of the “whore religion”

The preacher in question mentioned Oprah Winfrey by name.

If you want to see that, look up Rachel Maddow’s long piece on the horrible preachers that Rick Perry invited to pray for the country when he was running for president. They were ALL that bad.
